Delta is set to expand service from Kennedy Airport to Athens, and other cities.

Delta Adding Flights from New York to 30 Cities

Seeking to bolster its flights out of New York City, Delta Air Lines announced plans to expand service from there to nearly 30 cities worldwide, including major business destinations like Chicago, St. Louis, London and Tokyo.
Airline experts say the move is partly in response to the announced merger between United and Continental, which threatens Delta’s efforts to build a larger presence in the lucrative New York City market.
Delta’s new services should benefit Europe-bound travelers immediately. Last week Delta resumed year-round service from Kennedy Airport to Shannon, Ireland, and Manchester, England. It also expanded service to Brussels with daily flights, and will begin new service to Copenhagen and Stockholm later this month.

In June, Delta is set to expand service from Kennedy Airport to Athens, Cairo, Istanbul, Milan, Moscow, Nice, Tel Aviv and Tokyo-Narita. Also, a third daily flight between Kennedy and London-Heathrow will begin in September.

Within North America, more flights will begin in September to 11 cities including new service to Nashville, St. Louis and San Antonio.
