Dear Friend,
On Tuesday, May 16, supporters of human rights, religious liberty, and regional peace will rally outside the White House during President Trump’s meeting with Turkish President Erdogan. This growing coalition of activists and community leaders will call on President Trump to challenge Erdogan on a broad range of issues, including
Erdogan's post-coup consolidation of authoritarian power; mass arrests of the HDP leadership; arrest of record numbers of journalists; growing restrictions on religious freedom and worship; Turkish aggression against Kurds in Syria and Iraq; Turkey’s rising anti-American rhetoric and actions; the continued military occupation of Cyprus; the continued denial of the genocide of Armenians, Greeks, and Assyrians; and the continued illegal economic blockade of Armenia.
The American Hellenic Council is proud to be apart this coalition, initiated by the Armenian National Committee of America. AHC calls upon all Greek-Americans in the greater D.C. Metro area to participate in this important event for justice! To learn more, click here.
Sincerely,
Ioannis Fidanakis
Executive Director
American Hellenic Council
